Psychotherapy & Counseling
Psychotherapy is a contemporary, evidence-based means of self-awareness, reflection, and deeper contact with oneself.
It involves the creation of a relationship of trust, safety, and authentic communication that helps the person find the safe space and time they need, allowing different parts of themselves to emerge and receive care. The Therapeutic Relationship provides a safe foundation from which the person can return to themselves, listen more closely, feel, and attend more deeply to their inner experience, gradually identifying their needs and desires.
Psychotherapy is a space for listening that goes beyond everyday communication and interaction. It is a free-flowing space, with the person in therapy holding the steering wheel and the psychotherapist sitting in the passenger seat, offering a steady presence that accompanies the process with respect, acceptance, attentiveness, and care. In other words, the therapeutic relationship can serve as a point of reference through which the person can better understand their thoughts, emotions, and felt experiences, gaining greater clarity about what they themselves need and want, and what may have been placed upon them through the expectations of others.
Within the psychotherapeutic process, there are no ready-made solutions and, unfortunately, no predetermined directions or paths either. Instead, it is a process that unfolds according to each person’s own pace, with the psychotherapist holding the relationship within an atmosphere of openness, authenticity, and relational depth.
